Below we have provided a list of our frequently asked questions.
Treatments – Permanent Hair Removal
What are the side effects?
A patch test will determine the correct setting for your hair and skin type. There may be short term reddening, mild burning, temporary bruising and discolouration, in very rare cases there can be blistering, these effects will pass and are not permanent.
What do I wear during my treatment?
The usual rule for massage or body treatments is to take it all off (including jewellery down to your underpants, pop yourself on the bed and cover yourself with the towel we provide. For a facial or head massage you should remove your top and lower your bra straps. Our therapists respect your privacy at all times.
What time should I arrive?
Aim to arrive 15 minutes before your treatment. If it’s your first visit, we’ll complete a quick consultation about your health so it’s really important you allow at least 15 minutes.
Do you offer disabled facilities?
Yes we do. Our beds go low for easy access. Please let us know of any special needs you have when you book so we can help you make the most of your day.
What should I wear?
We’re relaxed, and we want you to relax too, so wear whatever you feel comfortable in. If you’re having a pedicure, bring flip-flops to wear after your treatment to prevent smudging.
Do I have to chat with my therapist?
Not for a second. If you feel like chatting, go ahead. If you would rather lie down and zone out, please do. Our therapists will follow your lead.
Can I book additional treatments on the day?
Our treatments are usually booked well in advance, but you never know until you ask. We will always do our best to find a therapist at late notice.
Can I wear make-up after my facial?
Make-up shouldn’t cause any post-facial clogging, unless you’ve had an oxygen treatment. In this case, try to keep your skin clean for a couple of hours. We can also touch up your make up for you with our fabulous Jane Iredale mineral make-up.
What if I have to cancel or reschedule?
Please give us 48 hours’ notice. We’re very reasonable but will need to charge you in full if you just ‘don’t turn up’. If your booking is for four or more people, please give us as much notice as possible. Fewer than four days’ notice for a group booking cancellation will result in a charge of 50%.
Should I tip – what’s normal?
Tipping for work well done is optional. If you are over the moon with your treatment, 10-20% is appreciated. But please don’t feel obliged.
What if I’m late?
This limits your treatment time. If you have not already completed a consultation we will ask you to do this beforehand, so please allow at least 15 minutes before your treatment time.
